The Montreal Wushu Institute is dedicated to promoting wushu and Chinese culture. It was founded over ten years ago by Sifu Luu Vi-Hung, who remains today the head coach. Sifu Luu, ex-member of the Canadian Wushu Team, is the only certified IWUF coach in the Province of Quebec.

7th Panamerican Wushu Championships Results

We are proud to announce that our Natalie Gagnon took the 3rd place in Nandao and 2nd place in Nangun at the 7th Panamerican Wushu Championships last July 16-20 in Brazil. Complete results may be found here.

Journey to the East: Thank you for your support!

We would like to thank all those who made our show "Journey to the East" in collaboration with the Typhon Dragon Boat Team a real success last Friday June 27th. First of all, we want to sincerely thank our sponsors Pierrette Wong (president of the Montreal Chinese Cultural and Community Centre) and Jimmy Chan (director and founder of the MCCCC), without who the project could not have been realized. We would also like to thank all the following artists for their voluntary participation: Rhymes with Witches, Lucinda Tang, Jennifer Chung and 701. We would also like to highlight the hard work of the students of MWI for their performance in several wushu and comedy sketch numbers. Of course, a big thank you to all the spectators who came in big numbers! Our show collected over $2500!
